Bhopal: Student breaches Governor’s security to submit memorandum

Bhopal: The Governor’s security was breached when a girl student of Government Sarojini Naidu PG Girls College entered inside security circle on Tuesday. A second year girl student entered the circle for submitting a memorandum demanding better quality of education from Governor Anandiben Patel during prize distribution function at annual fest – Advita.

The girl in her memorandum demanded that Governor should take necessary steps to improve quality of education, solve problem of guest faculty and improve condition of public transport buses and traffic conditions in old Bhopal. Sources said that she also submitted a memorandum demanding increase in salary of employees working under ‘Janbhagidari Samiti.’

“I asked the girl about her demands in memorandum but she didn’t respond properly. As far as I know, she told about problems she faced during travel from old city to college,” said Manjula Sharma, principal, Sarojini Naidu College. In her address, Anandiben Patel stressed on girls’ education and their all round development. She commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for steps he has taken for women’s empowerment.


Meanwhile, Governor distributed prizes to 15 girls in three different categories for their brilliant performances. The governor gave prizes to nine topper girls in the field academics. Four awards were given to NCC cadets. Two girls were presented certificates and mementos for winning medals in international boxing championship in Russia.

However, a quiz contest focusing on life of freedom fighter Sarojini Naidu was also organised. Principal, senior teachers and students participated in the quiz.
