Shivoham Institute of Performing Arts presented the Bharata Natyam Arangetram of Bhavna Chandramouli, disciple of Guru Nilesh Singha and Smt Mubina at the St Andrew’s auditorium, in Bandra recently.

Bhavna presented nine items from the Bharata Natyam repertoire and the thrilling dance known as Vanji Vandhal of a gypsy girl which had a folk touch that received wonderful response from the packed audience. The chief guest on the occasion was the renowned Bharata Natyam exponent Prof C.V.Chandrsekhar who praised the efforts of Guru Nilesh and Mubina and the young talented dancer Bhavna. The guests on the occasion also included Guru Padmini Radhkrishnan of Soundarya Natya Kalalaya, Kuchipudi exponent and dance critic Vijay Shanker and Kathak dancer Ayan Banerjee. Bhavna revealed command over the technique of Bharata Natyam and danced with lot of enthusiasm and liveliness, creating a fine impact on the spectators.
