Admin to tighten noose over city fair price shops

Ujjain : District Administration will launch a drive to curb blackmarketing prevailed at all fair price shops in the city from Thursday. All 126 fair price shops will be given a week time limit to manage the activities at the shops in the first phase. Later their licenses will be cancelled if they continue practicing the irregularities. Collector Kavindra Kiyawat reached at the office located at Kothi Premises at 8 am on Wednesday. Deputy Registerar Cooperative Manoj Jaiswal and Food Controller PC Gupta were present during a meeting chaired by Kiyawat. Collector directed officials to initiate a drive against fair price shops located in the city. They were directed to warn all fair price shop owners to stop blackmarketing and other irregularities. It should be ensured that all the shops should open at 9 am and ration should be available at all shops. Kerosene should be distributed with honesty. Collector informed that most of the vehicles are running with kerosene in the city. Ration card holders should get ration on time. Complaints were received regarding heavy irregularities prevailed at fair price shops. Kerosene is blackmarketed from these shops. Strict action will be taken against people doing blackmarketing and license of those shops will be cancelled. Certain shops do not open two days in a week at present.
